I REALLY REALLY WANT TO WRITE PICTURE BOOKS

Commissioning editors receive hundreds of submissions every month, so what’s going to make your text stand out? What will make an editor jump for joy? Join Little Tiger’s Eleanor Farmer and Maudie Powell-Tuck as they chat about the top 5 ways to get your picture book text noticed by publishers.

Maudie is the commissioning editor for picture books at Little Tiger. She loves growing new voices, helping authors polish their stories so they sparkle. A self-confessed picture book nerd, she can talk about narrative arc, pacing and structure ‘til the cows come home.

Agent one-to-one appointments are available with Maudie. Once you have booked your festival ticket you will receive link and details about Maudie’s available timeslots. Please note #Agent121 sessions are charged extra at £60 each.

She’s looking for big, bold characters that leap off the page, laugh-your-socks-off stories, and heart-warming tales that are good for the soul.

Maudie loves working with writers from all walks of life, and is particularly keen to hear from disabled authors (being disabled herself) and those from a working class background.
