1. THE COMMERCIAL FICTION PRIZE
1.1 The Prize for the I Am in Print I Am Writing Commercial Fiction competition consists of one (1) place on the Naxos Creative "How to be a Happy and Successful Writer" Retreat (the "Retreat"), scheduled for 20th-26th September 2026 in Naxos, Greece. (I Am in Print and Naxos Creative are referred to collectively for the remainder of this Schedule as the “Organisers”.)
1.2 The Prize includes:
· Accommodation for the duration of the Retreat (six nights: arriving Sunday 20th, departing Saturday 26th September)
· Tuition, workshops, and all scheduled group activities.
· Daily breakfast and all scheduled group meals.
· Transfers between Naxos airport/ferry port and the Retreat venue.
1.3 Exclusions: The Prize explicitly does not include:
· International or domestic flights/travel to Naxos
. Any necessary Visa or travel authorisations required for travel to Greece
· Travel insurance (which is mandatory as per clause 2.2).
· Personal spending money.
· Meals or drinks outside of the scheduled itinerary.
· Any other costs not explicitly stated as included.
2. WINNER OBLIGATIONS & TRAVEL
2.1 The Winner is solely responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel to Naxos, Greece.
2.2 Mandatory Insurance: It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the Winner must secure comprehensive travel insurance prior to travel. This insurance must cover:
· Medical expenses and repatriation.
· Personal liability.
· Cancellation or curtailment of the trip.
· Flight disruptions.
2.3 The Organisers reserve the right to request proof of such insurance prior to the Retreat start date. Failure to provide this may result in the forfeiture of the Prize.
2.4 The Winner must ensure they have all necessary travel documents, including a valid visa and a passport with the correct passport validity requirement for travel to and from Greece.
2.5 The Winner may choose which group activities to take part in and which to remain excluded from in line with their own personal needs and wellbeing.
3. LIABILITY & RISK
3.1 The Organisers accept no responsibility for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by the Winner entering the competition or as a result of accepting the Prize.
3.2 The Organisers are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any travel arrangements, including flight cancellations or delays.
3.3 In the event of the Retreat being cancelled due to Force Majeure beyond the Organisers’ control (including, but not limited to, natural events such as earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, as well as events such as, but not limited to, war, strikes, pandemics, government actions, terrorism, or civil unrest) the Organisers will endeavour to offer a place on an alternative date, but no cash alternative or compensation for travel costs will be provided.
3.4 The Organisers shall not be liable for any additional costs or expenses incurred by the Winner due to cancellation or changes beyond their control.
3.5 The Organisers reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time, with reasonable notice.
4. CANCELLATION BY WINNER
4.1 The Prize is non-transferable and once accepted by the Winner cannot be exchanged for cash.
4.2 If the Winner is unable to attend the Retreat for any reason, they must inform the Organisers immediately. No alternative prize or cash equivalent will be offered.
4.3 In the event that the awarded writer declines the Prize, it will be offered to the next placing in the judge’s list, limited to the Top Three places.
4.4 The original First Place Winner offered the Prize must advise the Organisers by Wednesday 1 July 2026 whether or not they wish to accept the Prize or for it to be passed to Second Place.
5. PUBLICITY
5.1 The Winner agrees to the use of their name and image in any publicity material, as well as promotion of a short entry summary about their winning title.
5.2 Any personal data relating to the Winner will be used solely in accordance with current UK/EU GDPR data protection legislation.
5.3 The Winner has the right to request access to their personal data and to request its correction or deletion from publicity material, subject to legal requirements.
