FANTASY, SCI-FI, HORROR AND ALL THE WORLDS IN BETWEEN

This workshop will delve into defining the (speculative) genre and its subgenres before branching into various topics like world building, tropes, plot and characterisation. This workshop will explore what makes (speculative) such a compelling genre to write in and how creative elements come together to write interesting and thought-provoking stories. This workshop will be a mixture of presentation, short writing exercises and discussions that will enable you to think more about your own book and ideas.

Davina Tijani grew up in London and Surrey and went on to study at the University of East Anglia and University College London, before pursuing writing. Davina writes speculative and fantastical stories for adults and children. She grew up on Star Wars and other science fiction, fantasy and horror films and stories. She is a huge lover of mythology and enjoys incorporating it into her writing.
