Newark Book Festival have been working with their partners at the Polish Cultural Institute to create an event that highlights some of the best Polish authors and artists. This event will include Julia Fiedorczuk, a poet, author, translator, and lecturer in American literature at the University of Warsaw.

Chaired by Hannah Tretharven, Nottingham City of Literature.

ROZ WATKINS: THE RED HOUSE

Roz Watkins is the author of the acclaimed DI Meg Dalton series set in the Peak District. The first book in the series, The Devil’s Dice, was shortlisted for the CWA Debut Dagger award and was The Times Crime Book of the Month. Her fourth novel, The Red House, is a standalone thriller set in swampy moorland in the north of Derbyshire. Roz now lives in Cornwall, which also has great scenery for crime writers! She lives with two demanding cats, and likes to walk by the sea, scouting out good murder locations.

MATSON TAYLOR: ALL ABOUT EVIE

Matson Taylor’s debut novel The Miseducation of Evie Epworth was the indie hit of 2020, selected for the Radio 2 Book Club and the Richard & Judy Book Club. Now, Evie is back in the 2nd novel. Ten years older but any wiser? Let’s head back to the summer of 1972 for this joyous and uplifting read.
